Charlotte, NC (WFN) -- Life has been good lately for musician Justin Tosco. And he owes it all to pop star Michelle Branch.

Tosco says it was the "Everywhere" singer that discovered his band, Justincase, and championed them to the music industry.

According to Tosco, 19, it feels good to say "Michelle Branch is a fan" and since meeting her, his band has made it onto "Total Request Live" as well as scoring a record deal with Madonna's label, Maverick Records.

However, if you think Branch just pulled strings and talked to her famous friends to kickstart Tosco's career, think again. He says at the time she didn't even have a record deal, she just worked very hard.

Justincase's self-titled major label debut hits stores October 29.
