Eastpointe, MI (WFN) -- It sounds nuts but an elderly woman in Eastpointe, Michigan, is facing jail time for feeding squirrels.

70-year-old Lumi Marinas was busted last year and put on probation for charges of littering when she fed squirrels in her backyard and at a nearby park.

Now, the squirrel-feeding senior is in trouble again and facing prison time -- and according to her lawyer, there's a good chance she'll be locked up.

Her newly-hired lawyer, Matt Savich, says he's 90 percent sure his client will spend time in jail unless he can withdraw her guilty plea in court later this morning.

Savich says he wants to take the case to trial to challenge the city's characterization of feeding squirrels as "littering."
