Country Comedian Cledus T. Judd Actually Tries To Sing

Nashville, TN -- Country-singing comedian Cledus T. Judd is trying something funny: Singing in a normal voice.

Ever since 1996, Judd has been country music's answer to Weird Al Yankovic, singing spoofy songs like "Did I Shave My Back For This?" in a cornpone accent straight from "Hee Haw."

However, he's decided to do his fans a favor and "sing a little better" on his new CD, "Cledus Envy."

Judd says he spent a week writing the lyrics for "Breath," his spoof of Faith Hill's "Breath," and got so wound up trying to match the original song's rhyme scheme, he ended up "...kickin' s*** over."

The extra effort paid off. He says many performers who used to get mad when he made fun of their ditties now get mad when he doesn't.
