|
Bethlehem, PA (WFN) -- A vampire expert is taking a bite out of the new movie "Blade II:" She says the film's bloodsuckers aren't anything like "real" vampires. Forensic psychology professor Katherine Ramsland spent more than a year in the vampire subculture for her book "Piercing the Darkness: Undercover with Vampires in America Today" (Harper). Unlike the vamps in "Blade II," she says real vampires don't hang out in blood banks and they don't die when exposed to garlic, sunlight or crosses. Ramsland is particularly critical of a party scene set at a vampire "safe house," and says it was "...so mundane and boring compared to a real vampire club," and "too well-lighted." What's more, she thinks the self-proclaimed vampires she's spent time won't want a bloody thing to do with "Blade II."
