Los Angeles, CA -- Hawaiian music legend Don Ho is shocking the music world by recording Peter Gabriel's 1982 hit "Shock The Monkey." Ho has recorded a multi-ukelele version of the song for a new CD, "When Pigs Fly (Songs You Never Thought You'd Hear)." Producer Cevin Soling insists Ho's rendition of "Monkey" isn't "cheesy," but he admits the tune wasn't his first choice for Ho. He wanted the "Tiny Bubbles" titan to record "Firestarter" by Prodigy, but Ho turned it down because of the lyrical content. Ho's not the only singer who's recording a bizarre song for the CD, which hits stores in May: Lesley Gore is remaking AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap," Jackie Chan is singing "Unforgettable" with Ani DiFranco; and the Oak Ridge Boys harmonize on "Carry On Wayward Son."
