Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Remember Tony! Toni! Tone!, the R&B trio that scored a big hit with "Feels Good" in 1990?

Well, ex-member Raphael Saadiq's new video, "Be Here," debuts today (Mar. 18) on MTV, and his new album, "Instant Voyage," comes out May 21.

But he insists he's not going back to his Tony! days -- he's going further.

Saadiq says he originally wanted to make music that sounded like it was from "back in the day," but instead decided to make it sound like it was from "...back in the day day day."

For those who don't speak "Saadiqese," he says "back in the day day day" means back when primitive people first picked up musical instruments and had to make up their own sounds.

Saadiq calls this style "Gospeldelic," and says it came equally out of his love for gospel music and from his "psychedelic background."
