|
Los Angeles, CA -- St. Patrick's Day might seem like a fun holiday, but "little people" advocate Cara Egan says it might not be so droll for dwarves. That's because St. Paddy's Day poses a higher threat of dwarf abuse by bigger people who've had a little too much green beer and mistake the little folk for Leprechauns. But Egan, who represents the Little People of America association, says while little people should watch out, they should also still go on with their lives and not live in fear. She advises dwarfs to tread lightly and if someone hassles them or tries to grab them, "Let those jerks be jerks and go on your merry way." Egan also says she has friends that actually gets paid to dress up like leprechauns for parties, though she doesn't think that should give "average height people" the right to be cruel to them.
