Yankee Stadium Beer Vendor Also Pitches Jokes

Queens, NY (WFN) -- One of the best pitchers in Yankee Stadium isn't even on the field.

He's 34-year-old vendor Steve Lazarus and when he isn't slinging beer at baseball games, he's slinging jokes at New York comedy clubs.

Lazarus says his routines are inspired by his antics with bleacher bums, such as the woman who asked him how to get to the upper deck and he told her, "Go out to second base -- a helicopter will meet you there."

The comedian beer hustler has been working at the stadium for 20 seasons and expects business to triple when the Yanks meet the Diamondbacks in New York next Tuesday (Oct. 30).

But while Lazarus likes all the beer he sells, he admits he prefers slinging Coors Lite because "the bottles don't weigh as much."
