Belgian Man Traveling Around The World In A Rickshaw

Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- A 37-year-old Belgian man has just begun the final leg of a worldwide journey on a motorized rickshaw.

For more than a year, Axel Ewbank has been traveling around the world on a three-wheeled vehicle called a "tuk-tuk" which is used as a rickshaw taxi in Thailand.

He's cruised along at a top speed of 45 miles per hour through Russia and Asia -- with only his pet Basenji dog named Raja -- and has just landed in Los Angeles to begin the North American part of his trip.

Although Ewbank has battled road hazards like potholes, mud and broken-down bridges, he says his biggest challenge so far has been all the paperwork necessary to move his vehicle from country to country.

He hopes to conclude his trip next May in Miami.
