Albany, NY -- Is Andy Rooney taking lessons from W.C. Fields? The "New York Post" reports the "60 Minutes" commentator was recently spotted wearing a rumpled seersucker jacket, buying a jug of gin in an Albany liquor store. Snoops say Rooney almost fell over trying to lug the jug out of the shop.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla -- "American Pie" actress Natasha Lyonne was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, yesterday morning (Aug. 28) on charges of drunk driving after the 22-year-old crashed her rented Dodge into a road sign. Officers quoted Lyonne as saying, "I'm a movie star. Can I talk to my entertainment lawyer?"

LOS ANGELES -- Country pop group the Dixie Chicks are suing their record label, Sony, to terminate their contract on grounds the label cheated the singers out of over $4 million -- which ain't chicken feed.

HOUSTON -- There's not much noise in American bedrooms -- mainly because folks are afraid they'll be heard having sex. According to a survey by Adam & Eve Sex Toys, 33 percent admit they're sexually inhibited worrying someone will hear them. On the other hand, 22 percent lose the urge for sex because they feel fat and 15 percent get inhibited whenever the lights are on.

DALLAS -- The Backstreet Boys will make their internet debut this Friday when their concert in Dallas will be webcast over Yahoo. The URL for the performance is http://backstreetboys.yahoo.com.

NEW YORK -- Michael Landon is now the top dog among TV dads. According to a survey by "Biography" magazine, Landon's "Little House On The Prairie" character has been chosen the favorite TV dad, narrowly beating out Andy Griffith.

DENVER -- "Sopranos" star Dominic Chianese, who plays the singing mobster Uncle Junior, won't be singing in Denver. Italian-American groups there have successfully lobbied to cancel a concert featuring the singer and actor.

HANOI -- Scorpions are the latest rage in restaurants in southern Vietnam. Some of the exotic dishes popping up on menus include Fried Scorpion with Tamarind Sauce and Sauteed Scorpion with Lemongrass and Chili.

LOS ANGELES -- "Popera" star Charlotte Church will release her fourth album, "Enchantment," on October 9. Besides opera favorites, the CD will include Church's renditions of show tunes such as "Bali Hai" from "South Pacific" and Barbra Streisand's "Yentl" tune "Papa Can You Hear Me?"

SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- Tennis is getting into the cable racket. A new channel called -- what else? -- The Tennis Channel will make its debut next summer.
