Sobriety In A Pill: Tablet Dries Out Drunks

Sarasota, FL (WFN) -- A Florida company claims it has invented a pill that will turn a drunk person sober in a matter of minutes.

The tablets -- called "Notox" -- are scheduled to appear in stores next month and contain herbal extracts that supposedly lower blood alcohol level.

A spokesman for the manufacturer claims two tablets will make a person who's had up to six drinks sober enough to drive a car within 30 minutes.

The anti-drunk pill is raising concerns with groups like Mothers Against Drunk Driving, but a spokesman for the herbal supplement says the pill isn't a replacement for safeguards like designated drivers -- it's just another precaution.
