|
Los Angeles, CA -- Although experts are predicting rolling blackouts could affect much of the United States this summer, movie theater owners aren't expecting to get burned. That's according to National Association of Theater Owners president John Fithian, who says the energy crisis will be easier to manage for movie theaters than other industries. That's because the peak hours of energy use -- weekday afternoons -- are the least popular times to see movies, so fewer film fans will have their experience disrupted by a blackout. However, Fithian admits the movie-going experience won't be so hot if any rolling blackouts occur during peak times such evenings or weekend afternoons.
