Record-Breaking Water Balloon To Make A Big Splash

Hollywood, CA (WFN) -- Universal Studios Hollywood is hoping to make a big splash next Thursday (Apr. 5) with a record-breaking water balloon.

The theme park plans to drop a 12-foot diameter rubber water balloon from a height of 40 feet to celebrate the opening of a new water theme attraction, Nickelodeon Blast Zone.

A spokesman for the event says the balloon will be lifted by a crane, and although it can't be filled to capacity without bursting, it would weigh 28 tons if it were.

Although the park can't confirm the current record holder, they believe it stands at 8 feet in diameter.
