According to the Academy of General Dentistry, tax payers who gnash their teeth while stressing over their tax forms are likely to suffer from a jaw affliction called "temporomandibular dysfunction."

Dentist Barbara Rich confirms that she sees an increase in patients complaining of jaw soreness during tax season.

More extreme symptoms include teeth which no longer line up correctly and, in some cases, full locking of the jaw.

If you catch yourself clenching while preparing your taxes, Dr. Rich says the best remedy is relax yourself and your jaw, and keep your teeth slightly apart.
