The Naked Truth: Americans Want Nude Beaches

Osh Kosh, WI (WFN) -- The bare facts are in: Most Americans support nude sunbathing.

According to a new survey commissioned by the Naturist Education Foundation, 80 percent of Americans say public skinny dipping is OK, provided it's done in specially-zoned beaches.

The survey also reveals 25 percent of Americans admit they've swam in the buff with other people -- a 10 percent increase from 1983.

Although the findings suggest Americans are overwhelmingly in favor of skinny-dipping, study spokesman Bob Morton doesn't expect the "nudes flash" will affect the election.

Although Morton believes George W. Bush and Al Gore have nothing against nudity, he doubts either candidate will bare their true feelings about skinny-dipping for fear of alienating anti-nudity voters.
