The Bald Facts: Women Losing More Hair Than Ever

New York, NY (WFN) -- Ladies, you may not like the Sinead O'Connor shaved head look -- but you may not have any choice.

According to a new baldness study by Rogaine, 25 percent of women have thinning hair and the fastest growing group of cueball cuties are women between the ages of 35 and 44.

Heredity and natural causes are responsible for 43 percent of female hair loss but 6 percent is caused by styling or color treatments.

Research also suggests women married to guys with hairy heads are less likely to worry about becoming bald-headed while women hitched to bald men fret more about their own thinning locks.

Dermatologist Dr. Michael Reed says that doesn't mean bald boyfriends are more likely to make a lady tear her hair out -- just that women are more likely to notice their own scalp shedding when their hubby is hairless.
