Los Angeles, CA -- Actors who portray real people should be careful about getting too close to their subjects.

That's the advice of Melissa Disney, who once played Manson Family member Squeaky Fromme for a play and figured writing a letter to Squeaky would provide insight on the character.

However, Disney got more than she bargained for. She says Squeaky was so excited about getting mail, she made a nuisance of herself trying to be a pen pal.

These days, Disney avoids hanging around prisoners and prefers to get inspiration for her parts by hanging around playgrounds -- which comes in handy for her latest gig: voicing the title character on the new Nickelodeon cartoon, "As Told By Ginger."
