Generic Name: E: PRAMIPEXOLE (pra-mi-PEX-ole) Common Uses of Mirapex This medicine is a dopamine agonist used to treat Parkinson's Disease. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. Possible Mirapex Side Effects Side effects that may occur while taking this medicine include nausea, constipation, insomnia, sleepiness, dizziness, or headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience confusion; change in behavior, moods, or emotions; change in vision; vivid dreams or daydreams; chest pain; pain shooting down the arm; or a sudden irresistible urge to sleep. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. General CautionsDo not stop using this medicine without first checking with your doctor. If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor. This medicine may cause dizziness. Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines cause dizziness. Alcohol, hot weather, exercise, and fever can increase dizziness. To prevent dizziness or fainting, sit up or stand up slowly, especially in the morning. Also, sit or lie down at the first sign of dizziness or weakness. Before you begin taking any new medicine, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines that contain cimetidine. For Women: if you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. It is unknown if this medicine is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking this medicine.
