Common Uses of Furoxone
This medicine is an antibiotic used to treat infections.

Possible Furoxone Side Effects
Side effects that may occur while taking this medicine include nausea, vomiting, or headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience fainting, itching, rash, sore throat or fever, sudden onset of cold sweat, dizziness, fatigue, shakiness, fast heartbeat, vision changes, confusion, or personality changes. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

General Cautions
If your symptoms do not improve within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor. Avoid foods containing tyramine (broad beans, strong cheeses, yeast extracts, beer, wine, pickled herring, chicken livers, smoked meats, and fermented products). Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about which foods to avoid. This medicine may cause your urine to turn brown. This is expected and is harmless. Before you begin taking any new medicine, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines that contain dextromethorphan. Do not take decongestants or diet medicines that contain phenylpropanolamine or pseudoephedrine. Do not drink alcohol while you are taking this medicine or within 4 days after you stop taking this medicine. If you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. It is unknown if this medicine is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking this medicine.
