It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. Possible Dilatrate SR Side Effects Side effects that may go away during treatment, include dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting when sitting up or standing; headache; nausea; vomiting; fast heartbeat; or flushing of your face and neck. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience frequent or continuing chest pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. General CautionsDo not stop taking this medicine without checking with your doctor. This medicine may cause dizziness. To lessen this effect, get up slowly from a sitting or lying position. Drinking alcohol will worsen this effect. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. When you begin using this medicine, it may give you a headache. This usually becomes less noticeable with time. For Men: do not take viagra (sildenafil) while using this medicine. For Women: if you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. It is unknown if this drug is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
