Nationwide, 9.5% of students had been hit, slapped, or physically hurt on purpose by their boyfriend or girlfriend >1 times during the 12 months preceding the survey. Prevalence of dating violence ranged from 6.9% to 18.1% (median: 10.3%) across state surveys and from 6% to 17.2% (median: 10.2%) across local surveys.
